  32. Installation
  33. -------------

  35. To install MFTC32:  Mutual Fund Tax Calculator, run Setup.exe.
  36.  
  37. The online documentation may be read after launching MFTC32 by selecting 
  38. the <Documentation> button on any page, or by pressing <F1>.   Pressing 
  39. the <Documentation> button brings up the Contents page of the MFTC32 Help; 
  40. from the Contents page, you may click on an item to go directly to a topic, 
  41. or click the >> (Next) button on the Windows help screen to browse through 
  42. the topics in documentation sequence.  Pressing <F1> while the focus is on 
  43. other screen components provides context-sensitive help.

  45. You may also print (highly recommended) or view a formatted version of the 
  46. documentation by opening MFTC32.DOC in Windows WordPad (or any Windows 
  47. word processor that can read the .DOC file format, such as Microsoft Word) 
  48. and utilizing the print facility from within that program.

  50. To uninstall this program, open Control Panel, select Add/Remove Programs.  
  51. Under Install/Uninstall select MFTC32, click on Add/Remove...  and answer 
  52. the Remove prompt appropriately.

  71. Release Notes from the Windows 3.1 edition of MFTC
  72. ---------------------------------------------------
  73. We have been most pleased at the excellent registration response for MFTC
  74. (Windows 3.1 edition); it has, in a very short period of time, become one 
  75. of our most popular and often-registered programs.  The response from 
  76. investors has been very encouraging.  We have also been pleasantly 
  77. surprised by the receipt of orders from investment advisors and financial 
  78. planners for multiple copies of MFTC to give or resell to their clients.

  80. The suggestions and comments from many users, including both novice and 
  81. experienced investors, have been extensive, thoughtful, and always 
  82. well-considered by RCCO Research; several suggestions from registered 
  83. users are implemented within the new edition.

  86. from the initial releases that we are happy to provide the development of

  144. If the package has been downloaded from an information service, ftp site,
  145. or BBS, or otherwise received in a single archived file, simply decompress
  146. the files into an empty folder on your hard drive and launch Setup.exe
  147. from that folder.
  148.  
  149. If you wish to restore the package to the original format as distributed by
  150. the publisher, copy the files as indicated above onto two 1.44mb diskettes.
  151. When making up a set of such disks, you should place the files as indicated
  152. above on the proper disks and label them "Disk 1" and "Disk 2," respectively.
  153. Without the proper file sequence, Setup will fail.

  162. A companion product, MFTC:  Mutual Fund Tax Calculator for Windows 3.1 (or 
  163. greater) is available from RCCO Research in a 16-bit edition.  It is 
  164. similar to, but not exactly like, the present work entitled MFTC32:  
  165. Mutual Fund Tax Calculator (32-bit edition).  The two editions have 
  166. different registration fees, due to the program sizes and number of disks 
  167. involved for each.  The respective version numbers may also differ and 
  168. should not be considered relative to the other edition.
